By train
The main railway lines that cross the Marches are the Milan-Lecce and the Rome-Ancona, with stops in the most important centers of the coast and of  the hinterland.

By plane
The only regional airport is the Rafael Sanzio of Falconara (AN), connected by a direct railway service (Castelferretti) to and from Ancona. The chief town is also attainable with the line J of the Conerobus. Different receptive structures offer service of transfer from and for the airport.

By ship
The port of Ancona is connected with Croazia, Greece, Turkey and Albania. The interested companies are: Jadrolinija, Miatours, Marmara, Superfast, Anek, Minoan, Adria Ferries, Snav, Blue Line.

By car

The A14 highway Bologna-Ancona-Taranto crosses the region from South to North, while from Rome it is possible to cross the A24 (Rome-Teramo) and afterwards to cross the A14 toward North.


Valid identity card or passport for European Citizens whose country is under the authority of the Schengen Treaty.  Citizens from all other countries must show their passport on the border; where a visa is required, this must also be presented to the border authorities and must indicate the length of the holder’s stay and his or her destination. Visa applications – specifying the reason for the trip -  must be made to the Italian Consulate in the applicant’s country of residence, and are generally issued 90 days after the application was been made.
